Is NSDR the New Meditation?

Non-sleep deep rest (NSDR) is a self-induced, meditative-like state of calm in which the body is deeply relaxed but the mind is still awake.

The practice, led by an instructor, works by slowing down the brain waves to mimic deep sleep. So, if you’ve had a bad night’s sleep, you can enjoy the restorative benefits of a drool-inducing afternoon nap, without actually falling asleep.
